Spanish Port energy offices mix engineering culture with coastal corrosion risk. RH sits at 80 %+, and staff walk in from compound sites with grit on boots.
Zoning we use:
- Engineering offices / cubicles → nylon carpet tile (acoustic, hides pencil/grit, cheap tile swap).
- Corridors, lift lobbies, control-room surrounds → glue-down LVT 0.55–0.7 mm or SPC click 5.0 mm+ with 0.5 mm wear layer.
- Ground-floor entrance 3 m matwell → heavy-duty recessed aluminum/scraper mat, then SPC.
Two non-negotables for Trinidad:
- Salt-fog resistance — ask for ASTM B117 1000 h or equivalent; SPC limestone core beats WPC and flexible LVT.
- Thermal swing — AC at 18 °C inside, 32 °C outside; specify EN ISO 23999 dimensional stability ≤0.10 % or you get joint gapping in the east-west wings.
Tefloor SPC with UV-stabilized wear layer and 1.95–2.05 g/cm³ core density passes both. TTBS/TTS 171 marks are checked at customs — keep the DoP in the container file.
