Ecuador splits in two for flooring. Quito (2,850 m) is mining-company back offices, ministry procurement units, and NGO regional desks — cool, dry, seismic, carpet-friendly. Guayaquil is port logistics, oil-service sales floors, and customs/government satellites — hot, humid, mold-pressure, SPC/PVC territory.
Mining clients (we work with junior explorers and the Lima/Quito shared services of mid-cap copper/gold players) spec:
- Quito HQ: Tefloor D carpet tile in engineering bullpens (geotech rolls out maps, needs pin-able, quiet, replaceable), Tefloor D LVT in exec floor and investor room
- Camp-adjacent city office in Guayaquil: Tefloor D SPC 5.5 mm throughout, attached pad, because geologists walk in muddy boots from Daule field trips
- Government ministry buildings: PVC homogeneous sheet in public service halls (seamless, easy disinfectant wipe, wheelchair rated), LVT in clerk offices
Procurement reality: Ecuador public tenders demand local tax invoice, chamber-of-commerce cert, and sometimes INEN backing. We pre-clear Tefloor D LVT/SPC with a Quito distributor so the bid doesn’t die at the compliance desk. Carpet tile is rarely accepted in gov halls — too “call center” for a ministry lobby.
